Foundation:
Dream City Incursion
On Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th May, all of our Foundation classes participated in an incursion called Dream City.
This hands-on experience allowed students to explore a variety of careers through engaging, interactive, and high-tech activities. The incursion was designed to spark curiosity and provide students with a glimpse into the working world, all while having fun.
Highlights of the Incursion
Sports Scientist/Athlete: Students stepped into the shoes of athletes and sports scientists. They had the opportunity to run timed races, track their performance, and challenge themselves to improve their personal bests. There was a great sense of excitement and healthy competition in the air!
Electrical Engineer: Future engineers in the making had a blast as they explored the world of circuits and electronics. They successfully created simple circuits that powered lights, and spun fans all with the flick of a switch. The activity was both educational and thrilling!
Neonatal Nurse: Our young carers took on the important role of neonatal nurses. They learned how to take care of newborns by weighing, measuring, feeding, and soothing the baby dolls. The students showed great empathy as they gently rocked the babies to keep them calm and quiet.
Virtual Reality Artist: Using VR headsets, students entered a colourful virtual world where they brought their creativity to life. They enjoyed colouring in and seeing their artwork come alive in the virtual environment, an unforgettable experience!
The Dream City incursion was a fantastic opportunity for students to learn about different professions in a playful and engaging way. It was wonderful to see them so inspired, curious, and enthusiastic about the world of work!
