A message from Megan

Kii TPS Community

We are so excited to share and promote our school vision and purpose statement, which is the basis of everything we do at TPS.

Here are some examples:

  • Coming up on Friday 10th December our incredible Nangitt Balit (Strong Leaders) are going to spend a day in a leadership conference learning about how they can make a difference in our world.

  • Anna will be our Mental Health in Primary Schools Coordinator in 2022 to support all students to be resilient learners.

  • Arts Festival on Saturday 4th December will showcase our curious, creative and diverse learners and the AMAZING growth they have made this year.

  • Congratulations to Cecilia and Tania who have been successful in new and exciting roles for 2022 demonstrating they are courageous individuals.

Ngoon Godgin School Council Subcommittees

It is exciting to see that there is an increased involvement of community voice in our school council subcommittees and I would like to thank all of the parents/carers who have come along to the meetings for OSHC, Buildings & Grounds, Education, Communications, Social, Enviro and Finance.   WE THANK YOU for all your ideas, support and feedback.

We have reviewed our Reporting Student Achievement Policy and are excited to announce some changes connecting to families and learning together in 2022. Including a chance to meet the teachers early term one.

The Education and Training Reform Regulations 2017 require the Minister for Education to determine the days on which a government school is required to be open for attendance by students.

The Minister for Education has set the term dates for 2026-2030.

Setting school dates well in advance assists with school planning and ensures the school community knows the days Victorian government schools are open for student instruction.

The 2026-2030 term dates are based on these criteria:

  • there are four school terms
  • the school year is 200 days
  • the Australia Day holiday occurs before students return to school
  • the first term vacation is to coincide with Easter
  • that, as far as possible, a consistent pattern be maintained from one five-year block to the next.

More information is on the Department’s website: School term dates and holidays in Victoria (education.vic.gov.au)
