Celebrating Achievement

Joel Mundie (Year 12) made his Commonwealth Games debut in Birmingham in July. He contested the men’s 50m freestyle S7 and came 6th. St Mary's is so proud of you.

Congratulations to Charlotte Jonsen (Year10), playing in the Grand Final of the School Sport Australia National Netball Championships. After being undefeated in the rounds, QLD came away with the silver medal, in a hard, tough game, losing to WA by only 1 goal in the final moments. St Mary's is proud of your achievement Charlotte.

Congratulations to Caitlin Jackson (Year11), Jessica Haines (Year11) and Charlotte Jonsen (Year10) who have been selected in the 16U North Queensland team to compete at the Nissan State Netball Titles in September. Well done Lila Hodge (Year11) and Grace Massingham (Year11) who are training partners.

We congratulate Portia Eden (Year10) who has signed up as a School Based Apprentice with Hooker Boats . Portia will be undertaking a Cert III in Polymer Processing. Well done Portia.

Last Friday two St Mary's students entered the Italian Speaking Competition held at Cairns State High. Congratulations to Daniel O’Donnell (Year10) who won second place and Amy Stewart (Year10) won third place. St Mary's is very proud of your effort and commitment. 

Congratulations to Charline Scherer (Year 11) and Shylah Jago (Year 8) who competed at the Coral Coast Triathlon last weekend. Charline placed 3rd overall in the sprint distance, and 1st in her age group. Shylah placed 3rd overall in the enticer distance and 2nd in her age group. We are so proud of both their efforts!

Congratulations to Bree Pendrigh (Year10) who competed with the QLD team at the National School Girl under 16 Hockey Championships in Hobart. The team was very successful remaining undefeated and taking out the title against NSW in the final with a convincing 6-1 score. Well done Bree and team.

Well done to Jack Robeck (Year 7) who participated in the 3 km run at the Gordonvale Pyramid Race on Saturday 6th August. He came first in his age group Junior 12-13 years. Congratulations Jack!

Congratulations to Toby Atkinson (Year 11), who has signed up as a School Based Apprentice with Willmott's Smash Repairs. Toby will be undertaking a Cert III in Automotive Refinishing Technology.

Congratulations to Eloise Scherer (Year 7) who received third place for U13 in the Townsville Running Festival! Well done Eloise.

St Mary's congratulates Ben Machell (Year 12) who has signed up as a School Based Apprentice with Blake Sexton Electrical. Ben will be studying a Cert III Electrotechnology Electrician. All the best with your apprenticeship Ben.
