NAIDOC Week
Celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The Library was proud to take part in the school-wide NAIDOC Week celebrations. Students enjoyed making loom band bracelets, participating in our bookmark colouring competition and exploring our display featuring books by and about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples from our Indigenous collection.
Congratulations to Ayla Eate and Zairah Joseph, whose beautiful bookmarks were selected as the winning entries.
FIFA World Cup Competition
The excitement of the FIFA World Cup reached the Library, with many students taking part in our World Cup sweep and exploring our soccer-themed book display.
Congratulations to Samuel Harmison, who won the top prize after drawing Spain, the tournament champions.

At every Parent Student Teacher Conference, one of the most common questions we receive is, "What books would you recommend to encourage my child to read?"
To help families answer this question, we've created a Most Popular Reads collection featuring the books that have been favourites with our Year 7 and 8 students over the past few years.

2026 Author Visit: Mark Smith
We are thrilled to announce that acclaimed Australian author Mark Smith will be visiting Frankston High School on Monday 17 August.
Mark is best known for his award-winning young adult novels, including The Road to Winter trilogy and If Not Us. His books have captivated readers across Australia with their compelling characters, fast-paced storytelling and thought-provoking themes. His latest novel, Three Boys Gone, has also received widespread acclaim.
During his visit, Mark will share his journey as a writer, discuss the inspiration behind his books, and offer students an insight into the creative writing process. Students will also have the opportunity to ask questions and hear firsthand what it takes to become a published author.
This promises to be an inspiring and memorable day for our Year 7 and 8 students, providing a fantastic opportunity to meet a successful Australian author.
Chess Club
Chess Club had another successful term in Term 2 with the most players so far since its room change. It was a competitive and friendly competition but Kameron Hamilton (7M) came away with the first prize and the canteen voucher.
