Term 1 has been a great term for performing arts at CESC, we are so excited for all the upcoming events our students are working towards and are extremely proud of the effort shown this term.
We kicked off the start of the year with trials for the Year 7 cohort to test out, ask questions and see demonstrations on a range of instruments.
We saw the start of many of our ensembles, including Senior concert band, Senior & Junior Choir, Stage Band, Guitar Ensemble, Piano Ensembles and Rockband. With more ensembles starting in Term 2.
We also ended the term with SingFest, we were lucky enough to host this wonderful event at CESC this year having over 200 students attend our college to work with talented choir director Grace Collins, this event had students learn, perform and record 3 songs with no prior practise – all students did incredible work that by the end of the day you would think they have practised for months.
Our Mass Choir & Mass Dance had their first HUB rehearsals offsite with other schools from the region to begin learning and practising their songs and routines, we are looking forward to more rehearsals throughout the year before the big event August 29th.
Our rehearsals are underway for our 2026 production of ‘The Little Mermaid’ for both our leads and full cast rehearsals, our wonderful cast have been working so hard and are looking amazing. Our orchestra had their first rehearsal as well and are already off to a rocking start. Stage crew students got a chance to meet each other and the teachers they’re working with to create a game plan for the coming months and will hit term 2 with a running start on everything set, costumes, lighting and more.
We’re excited to show you more behind the scenes content next term.
