Wellbeing & Positive Climate for Learning
Ms McLean, Mr Yung and Ms Price
We are excited to share an update on our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) journey at CESC. This year, we have been focusing on building a consistent, positive environment where all students can thrive.
1. Reinforcing Positive Behaviour
Teachers are recognising and celebrating students who demonstrate these expected behaviours through our Positive Behaviour Points system.
2. Rewarding Students
We are thrilled to announce that we had our first student achieve their CESC Merit Badge! This is a fantastic milestone and shows how dedication to positive behaviour is being recognised.
Congratulations to Nandini in Year 8!
To date, a total of over 559,195 Positive Behaviour Points have been awarded to students across the College, highlighting the consistent efforts of our students to demonstrate expected behaviours.
3. Supporting Our Staff
This ensures a consistent approach across the school and reinforces positive interactions with all students.
4. Updates on SWPBS
4. What’s Next
Families will see continued updates and opportunities to engage with SWPBS initiatives at CESC.
In addition to the above we’d love your feedback on the first term of our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) program. Your input helps us improve and better support our students. This survey will take less than 5 minutes.
We thank you for supporting your children as we work together to create a positive, safe, and respectful learning environment for all.
It has been a busy and productive start to the term, and it’s particularly encouraging to see how naturally our students are navigating the wellbeing supports available to them. We’ve noticed an increase in students across all cohorts feeling comfortable enough to reach out for a chat or access our services - a clear sign that our culture of looking out for one another is truly working.
We are incredibly lucky to have such a large and passionate Wellbeing Team from counselling, social work, psychology and nursing backgrounds. Meet the team below:

We’d like to remind you of our Doctors in Schools Program, which operates every Thursday. Students can access the doctor for both mental health and physical health needs. You can book an appointment via the Star Icon on Compass or by speaking to a member of the Wellbeing Team. This is a confidential service and students just require valid Medicare Card details.
Dr. Neethu is the GP working with the Doctors in Schools Program, with a special interest in mental health and women’s health. She enjoys getting to know people and understanding them as a whole person, creating a safe and supportive space to talk about any concerns—big or small. Students are welcome to come in for support, questions, or even just a chat.
Outside of work, Dr. Neethu loves spending time with her family (including her very cute Pomapoo 🐶), and enjoys singing and dancing.
Our lunchtime clubs continue to be a fantastic way for students to connect with peers with similar interests and build community.
BFF (Best Friends Forever)
BFF has been busy this term, welcoming in new Year 7 girls and welcoming back our Year 8 and 9 besties. We have created Valentine’s Day crafts, slime, and pipe cleaner flower bouquets. Between Just Dance parties and bookmark making, we have used our "bestie bucket" to share positive affirmations and quotes with each other. BFF has seen a range of besties come through the doors to join our activities, play a board game, colour in, or spend time with friends. We’re looking forward to another wonderful term with new and exciting things to come!

Bro Code
The Bro Code is a social connection club for junior students who like to hang out, play video games, Lego, and board games, or build new friendships. The club provides students with a relaxed space to connect with their peers, ensuring every young person has a place to belong.
Diversity Club
We are happy to announce that at CESC, Diversity Club will be held every Tuesday during both senior and junior lunchtimes! This club provides a safe, welcoming space for students to connect, share experiences, and celebrate inclusion in all its forms. It’s a great opportunity for students to learn more about diversity, support one another, and build a strong sense of belonging within our school community.
We’re especially excited to celebrate IDAHOBIT Day together! We’ll be celebrating early on Tuesday, 12th May, and it’s going to be bright, bold, and full of energy. Think rainbow colours, fun activities, great vibes, and plenty of ways to show your support. It’s all about standing up for inclusion, celebrating diversity, and making sure everyone feels seen, safe, and valued at our school. Come along, bring a friend, and help us make it a day to remember! 🌈
We feel early intervention is important to support students with a number of wellbeing needs and therefore we are excited to be facilitating several specialised cohort wide and small group workshops next term.
These will cover topics including:
As we head into the break, I would like to kindly remind you of the support services available to you during the holidays. Please reach out to these external providers if you require assistance:

We wish you a restful and safe holiday break – we look forward to supporting the CESC community again next term.
