Prep Sport

Over the past few weeks, our Prep students have been developing their fundamental movement skills through a variety of fun team games and AFL-inspired activities. Students have practised running safely, kicking soft balls, rolling, throwing, catching, and working cooperatively with classmates through games that focus on participation, teamwork, and following rules. They have also been introduced to basic AFL skills, including picking up and bouncing a football, while building confidence, coordination, and enjoyment of physical activity.

Year 1/2 Sport

Over the past few weeks, our Year 1/2 students have been developing their teamwork, movement, and AFL skills through a range of engaging games and skill-based activities. Students have practised handballing, marking, kicking, throwing, and catching while applying these skills in team challenges and modified games. The focus has been on improving coordination, accuracy, cooperation, and game awareness, while encouraging students to work together, participate fairly, and build confidence in their sporting abilities.

Year 3–6 Sport

Over the past few weeks, our Year 3–6 students have been developing their ball skills through units focused on AFL and Netball. In AFL, students practised handballing, kicking, marking, bouncing the football, and applying these skills in modified games that developed teamwork, game awareness, and decision-making. In Netball, students explored a range of passing techniques, footwork, dodging, defending, and shooting skills while participating in small-sided games and team challenges. Throughout both units, students have continued to build their confidence, coordination, communication, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

SSA/SSV Sport

A huge congratulations to our Year 5/6 Girls' Netball team for their outstanding performance in winning the Bellarine Division competition last Thursday. The team demonstrated excellent skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the day and will now progress to the next stage of competition. We also congratulate Marlow on his fantastic effort at the Metropolitan Cross Country on Monday, where he achieved an impressive 15th place finish. We are incredibly proud of both achievements and a massive thank you to Christine Graham for helping coach the Girl's Netball! The next round for them is 6th August and we wish them the best of luck!
