The Arts

We have come to the end of Term 2. All students have worked very hard in their creative endeavours and should be very proud of themselves. As we finish off before holidays, I'm looking forward to the new Art subjects students will be beginning in Term 3 - 

• Prep-2 - Drama and Visual Arts
• 3-6 - Media and Visual Arts

Prep

In Music, the Prep students completed the term by exploring how to express feelings and create stories through music and dance. In Visual Arts, they finished off our unit on animals by creating art pieces based on penguins and cats.

In Music, the 1/2 students completed the term by exploring how to express feelings and create stories through music and dance. In Visual Arts, they completed their unit on self-portraits by creating a collage of themselves using different art materials and mediums.

3/4

In Music, the 3/4s completed a unit on playing the ukulele, by learning to play some modern hits like 'Shake it off' and 'Don't worry be happy'. They also learnt to play the Dm chord. In Drama, they completed rehearsing a short play that they will then present to one of our junior classes in the last week of school.

5/6

In Music, the 5/6 students completed a unit on playing the ukulele, by learning to play some modern hits like 'Thunder' and 'Best Day of my Life.' They also learnt to play the G chord. In Drama, students finished our two term project of putting on a production by presenting their plays at Grovedale College for their friends and families. A big thank you to all those that came out to see all their hard work up on the stage.
