Year 5/6

We would like to begin this last newsletter of the term by giving a heartfelt thank you to all of our students and families for a brilliant first semester of 2026.  We would love to especially thank you all for your support and time over the last number of weeks as we have been busy with events.

Market Day

Last Friday we held our annual Market Day and the whole school community was involved.  Our Year 5/6 students did an amazing job creating and selling a range of different products and experiences to their peers throughout the day. In total we raised a record $1700, which will be contributed to our Year 5 end of Year Excursion, Graduation yearbooks and the majority going to the students' elected charity of choice Fight MND.  We know this event in particular requires significant support from home and we are so grateful for our 5/6 families.

5/6 Concert

On Wednesday we held our 5/6 Concert at Grovedale College with all three classes performing for their peers and families. As always, we were blown away by the effort and talent of our students for this event and we would love to thank Mr Smith for putting together such a brilliant event that is a highlight of the year!

Sports Days

Over the last couple of weeks we have had our girls netball and boys AFL 9s represent our school at the Divisional Championships. Our boys finished 5th in the Bellarine region with 3 strong wins on the day.  Our girls managed to take out the win and be champions on the day! We would love to thank all the families that transported students to and from events as well as Christine, Jaz and Indi who coached. Finally, our own Marlow raced at the Cross Country Championships this week, finishing 15th.  Well done to all of our students for representing the school so well.

This week we held open classrooms on Thursday to showcase the amazing work our students have been doing on their Geography Unit - Australia and Our Asian Neighbours. Students have been working in groups to research and present a project on a country in Asia.
