The term has flown by for our youngest language learners. Hearing so many of the shout out across the yard each day, "Bonjour Miss L!" brings such a smile to my face. Accompanying that has been the growth in connecting their 'French chat' with the visual links and physical actions. Students have gained pace, confidence and have most recently learned "Où habites-tu ?" -Where do you live? and the response. Students have been learning some animals in French- horse, bird and bear and playing modified games using these animals.

Year 1/2

Students have been learning some animals in French- cat, dog, fish, horse, bird and bear and playing modified games such as fruit salad and duck, duck, goose and octopus using these animals. Then students have added  images to mini books of these animals and the accompanying French words.

Students have become so able in their French chat and the routine that they confidently move into this as they begin each session. Students have gained pace, confidence and have most recently learned "Où habites-tu ?" -Where do you live? and the response.

Year 3-6

Minecraft Education has hit the senior students and after a bit of 'sandbox' time students have been learning how to develop code that moves an 'agent' and builds what the students has coded. These sessions have focussed on building a castle structure and the features of a castle. This is to prepare them for a build next week of their French architectural focus, Chateau Comtal. Students have made a physical model of these and now they are preparing for their virtual model.
