Year Two - Spotlight on Learning

Dear Parents,

Our first full week of learning and we are sure the students are exhausted! BUT it has been a wonderful week, full of lots of exciting new learning and revising things from Grade 1. We have begin to set our routines and the students have shown how settled they are every morning. 

Next Week’s Learning: 

Religious Education focus: We are looking at the four pillars that underpin our school (prayer, service, thanksgiving and reconciliation).

Structured Literacy focus: Students will learn to read and spell words using the ‘fszl’ rule (when to double these letters). The story, ‘Australia is our Home’ will be read and students will unpack key vocabulary within the text. For writing, students will undertake activities relating to the read story and will review the conjunction ‘and’.

Mathematics focus: Place Value - reading, writing, ordering and making two and three digit numbers.

Social/Emotional Learning & RRRR: Identifying different types of emotions. 

Reminders:

All students must wear a hat for recess and lunchtime.  

For fruit break it would be helpful for your child if their fruit or vegetables were cut up into small pieces. 

Bring labelled art smocks in preparation for Visual Art lessons.
