Year Four - Spotlight on Learning

Dear Families,
What a fantastic first week of learning! Students settled in really well into their learning spaces and reorientated themselves to the routines of learning; this included using the mini whiteboards, how to move safely around the school, eating times and so much more.
This week students revised AUSLAN greetings for hello, goodbye, please, thank you and you're welcome. We wonder if your child can show you these signs?
Other learning this week included Fractions in Mathematics, learning about the scripture of "The Good Samaritan" and the importance of greeting people with their names.
Next week we are learning about...
Religious Education Focus
Students will continue learning about the scripture "The Good Samaritan" and how this scripture links to the Catholic Social Teachings.
English Focus
Students will continue to read “Kensuke’s Kingdom” and complete grammar, vocabulary and comprehension tasks related to the text. Students will begin to develop an understanding of persuasive writing and how this can be used to persuade a reader.
Mathematics Focus
Students will be looking a mixed and improper fractions and how we can convert between different fraction types.
Auslan Focus
Students will be looking at Greetings & facial expressions when signing good morning, good afternoon, how are you? and more.
