Year 10 Chinese Excursion 

On 1 May 2026, our Year 10 Chinese students participated in a vibrant cultural excursion to Chung Tian Temple as part of the annual Buddha’s Birthday celebrations. 

The event brought together students from schools across Queensland for a day of cultural immersion, learning, and celebration.

Throughout the day, students engaged in a wide range of traditional Chinese cultural workshops and activities, including Chinese painting, Kung Fu, Lion Dance, Tai Chi, calligraphy, meditation, tea ceremony, paper craft, and more. These hands-on experiences provided students with authentic opportunities to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture while strengthening the real-world connections to their language studies.

A highlight of the excursion was the opportunity to experience the welcoming atmosphere of the temple and enjoy a variety of delicious vegetarian dishes, reflecting Buddhist values of compassion, mindfulness, and harmony.

The excursion was both educational and highly enjoyable, giving students meaningful cultural experiences beyond the classroom. 

It was wonderful to see students from across Queensland come together to celebrate cultural diversity, peace, and community spirit.
