The Arts - Visual

Venus Ganis - Visual Arts Teacher

Senior students visited QAGOMA last week for an off campus class and immersed themselves in the current major exhibition Presence - viewing multi-sensory installations by Icelandic-Danish artist, Olafur Eliasson; as well as Archie Moore’s Kith and Kin large scale transformation of the ‘family tree into a vast enveloping history’.

Also visiting ‘Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art’ from 2025, engaged our students to consider the myriad of approaches and direction for their resolved artwork/s this year. This exhibition is a celebration of the artistic achievements and creative talents of senior high school students throughout Queensland and presents the work of 40 Excellence Award recipients, selected in 2025 from 472 entries submitted by metropolitan and regional schools from across the state.
