Welcome back to term 4 and what promises to be a very busy and exciting term.
Our curriculum focus this term is Christian Life and Catholic Social Teaching. For our school this means:
Catholics believe that humanity is created in the image and likeness of God, and that the Scriptures and the social teaching of the Church call people and governments to work for peace, justice and the promotion of the common good of society. Therefore, we teach the fundamental moral understanding of the dignity of human persons and how this is animated in the principles of Catholic Social Teaching (CST), calling humanity to respond.
To support our learning focus, we are using the following two Scripture passages:
The Greatest Commandment (Mt 22:34-50)
The Good Samaritan (Lk 10:25-37)
We have intentionally chosen these two passages as the Greatest Commandment identifies how Jesus wanted to be in relationship with others, whereas the Good Sammaritan is the example of this Commandment in action. Teachers are spending time to discuss both of these pieces, focusing on how we can embody this through our Catholic Social Teaching and outreach services to others in various ways. Resources from CARITAS are supporting us further in our learning.

Thank you families for supporting our PJ Day. There was lots of fun and focus on SOLIDARITY and being part of God's global family as we raised funds for CARITAS to support those impacted by the Nepalise floods. We we fortunate to raise ...... Thank you to our Year 6 Minnie Vinnie Crew for supporting this event.
Yesterday we celebrated the Feast of St Francis of Assisi.

St. Francis was born in 1182 in Assisi, Italy, into a wealthy merchant family. As a young man, he enjoyed a comfortable life and dreamed of becoming a knight. After experiencing war, imprisonment, illness, and a profound spiritual awakening, he began to question his former ambitions. While praying before the crucifix in the chapel of San Damiano, Francis believed he heard Christ say, "Francis, go and repair my house."
At first, he took this literally and repaired churches, but later
understood it as a call to renew the Church through a radical
Gospel way of life. He renounced his wealth, embraced poverty,
served lepers and the poor, and dedicated himself entirely to God.
He founded the Order of Friars Minor (the Franciscans) and

inspired St. Clare of Assisi to found the Poor Clares. Near the end of his life, he received the stigmata, the wounds of Christ, and died on 3 October 1226. He was canonized in 1228. Pope Leo has declared 2026 as the Jubilee Year of St Francis.
Fr Antony blessed all the pictures of our pets and Tui to signifiy St Francis' love for creation and animals who he called brothers and sisters.
