Reading & Writing: Students are analysing nonfiction texts about endangered animals and habitat destruction. In Writing, they are beginning information reports, using research skills to locate key facts, organise notes under headings and write engaging introductions with a strong author voice.
Numeracy: Our focus has shifted to multiplicative thinking. Students are exploring multiplication and division through arrays, equal groups and problem-solving activities while explaining and justifying their mathematical thinking.
Inquiry: Students are continuing their Biological Science unit by investigating how ocean animals use structural and behavioural adaptations to survive in marine environments.
Wellbeing: Students are learning about appreciation and gratitude. To celebrate Australian Primary Principals Day, they are creating thoughtful poems and messages that recognise the leadership, care and commitment of our principal.
We are thrilled to announce that we have secured a two-night, three-day camp for our Grade 5 and Grade 6 students at the YMCA Mt Evelyn Discovery Camp!
