BOOK WEEK CELEBRATIONS

📚 Book Week 2026

Book Week was a fantastic celebration of books, reading and storytelling across the school! The library was buzzing with activity throughout the week, with students and staff getting involved in a range of fun events and activities.

A highlight was welcoming author Will Kostakis, who shared his experiences as a writer and inspired a group of students with stories about his journey as an author.

Our Year 7 students also enjoyed a special author talk featuring LHS staff and student authors of Found Objects, giving them the opportunity to hear about the creative writing process from members of our own school community.

Wednesday brought Book Week Dress-Up Day, with students and staff dressing as their favourite book characters. The week also featured a lively Book Week Trivia competition and a sausage sizzle, bringing the school community together to celebrate our love of books.

Throughout the week, classes visited the library for storytime, bookmark-making, scavenger hunts and more.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Book Week such a memorable and enjoyable celebration of reading!
