ONE ACT TROUPE

🎭 A Festival Success for Our One Act Troupe!

The One Act Troupe had a very successful festival season, performing their devised work, Yuwaku, at the Dandenong Ranges One Act Play Festival in Emerald, hosted by Gemco, and the South Gippsland One Act Play Festival in Foster, hosted by FAMDA.

We are also beginning to develop a reputation on the festival circuit for creating original devised theatre that is different and inventive, while still being accessible to audiences.

At Foster, audience members told us they had been genuinely excited to see what we would create this year after seeing our previous work, and that we had not disappointed them. This was a particularly lovely indication that the troupe is beginning to establish its own identity and reputation.

The festival season was a particularly valuable experience for our students, giving them opportunities to develop their skills in performance, devising, ensemble work and technical theatre, as well as resilience and commitment.

We now turn our attention back to performing not onlyYuwakuat school, but also 12 Angry Villains, which is finally coming off the back burner after the festival season. Keep an eye out in Term 4 for performance dates!

Ms McGrotty and Mr Jennings will also be reflecting on the year and looking at what the One Act Troupe will look like in 2027. 

We will be saying goodbye to a number of our current members as they move into VCE, so there will be some big changes as we begin building the next generation of the troupe.
