Deputy Principal
Year 9 and 12
Congratulations and thank you to the vast majority of boys who engage in a positive manner every day at Epping Boys.
You arrive early to school, in the correct school uniform, with the correct sports gear, with the correct books for class. This demonstrates your ability to attend Epping Boys ready to participate, engage and to get the most out of your education.
Our 3rd core value is ENGAGEMENT. Under engagement you will find, 'I take on challenges and embrace opportunities'. The boys who get the most out of their 6 years at Epping Boys are the boys who participate in a wide array of opportunities. John F Kennedy's famous line, 'Ask not what your country can do for you- ask what you can do for your country', is very relevant to the attitude we promote at Epping Boys: 'Ask not what Epping Boys can do for you- ask what you can do for Epping Boys.'
The 2nd-hand uniform is one of our great resources at this school, many of you have benefitted from it already. When boys have ripped their trousers, lost their tie or torn a shirt, we have been able to quickly fix the problem and dress them in a school uniform. Please donate your middle school uniforms so that other boys can benefit.
Remember that 2026 is, "The Year of the Book". In the last week of your holidays please start to assist your son with organising his school bag for the start of the year and purchase new schoolbooks, pens and pencil case- in preparation for day 1. School bags must be large enough to carry all your schoolwork and PE/Sports gear, plus food.
I would like to thank the wellbeing team for their care and hard work. They look after the boys every day and every week of the year. In particular, Ms Hoy, Ms Tran and Mr Bondfield- thank you.
Boys; I encourage you to make the most of the summer break. Get off your mobile phone. Enjoy the company of friends and family. Enjoy the beautiful natural environment. Swim, ride a bike and play with your mates. Help at home, clean your room and cook for your family. Be active- enjoy life! Remember- we are very lucky to live in a city such a Sydney and indeed Australia.
