STUDENTS OF THE WEEK

Reading           

This week, students have been developing their comprehension skills by monitoring their understanding and creating questions to gain a deeper understanding of texts. They explored illustrations closely and generated questions about what they noticed and inferred. Students also used evidence from the text and illustrations to support their answers to comprehension questions, strengthening their ability to think deeply and respond thoughtfully as readers.

Writing 

During Writing, students have begun researching an Australian natural disaster in preparation for writing an information text. They have explored a range of sources to gather relevant information and have started using their research to draft their own texts. Students have focused on organising their information under clear subheadings to help structure their writing and effectively share their knowledge with readers.

Numeracy

During Numeracy, students have been developing their understanding of metric measurements by converting between common units of length, mass and capacity. They have also been working on worded problems involving mass and capacity, using their understanding of measurement to identify relevant information, choose appropriate strategies and solve problems.
