Dear Families,
The Behaviour Matrix outlines expected behaviours across key areas of school life. It helps students understand what it means to be safe, respectful, and responsible in different settings.

✅ Tip for families: Ask your child how they can demonstrate these behaviours at school this term.
To help students understand the impact of their actions, behaviours are classified as Minor or Major. This helps ensure responses are fair, consistent, and focused on learning from mistakes.

✅ Tip for families: Talk with your child about why some behaviours have a greater impact and how they can make positive choices.
The Behaviour Response Continuum explains how staff respond consistently to student behaviour. Students learn what to expect and how they can reflect, repair, and make better choices moving forward.
✅ Tip for families: Ask your child what strategies they can use if they find themselves in a challenging situation.
Engagement and Professional Learning
The leadership team has continued to provide support and guidance, creating opportunities to work alongside different teams within PLC and engage with students in classrooms and during yard time.
Collaboration with staff during our recent Curriculum Day and through ongoing professional learning has provided valuable opportunities to develop an understanding of school processes, curriculum priorities and student needs.
This has included unpacking PCMS strategies, expected routines and procedures, and whole-school expectations to support consistency across the school. This work will continue to be a focus moving forward, with ongoing opportunities to strengthen consistency, collaboration and shared understanding across the school community.
Dog Therapy
This term, we have been very fortunate to welcome Dog for Half a Day to our school community. Each Thursday from 9:00am to 12:30pm, students have had the wonderful opportunity to spend time with their mentor and therapy dog, developing important social and emotional skills while enjoying the company of a very special furry friend.
Our mentor this term has been Emily, together with her beautiful therapy dog, Peaches.
Throughout the term, many of our classes have participated in sessions with Emily and Peaches. Students have had the opportunity to build their confidence, practise kindness and responsibility, and develop their understanding of how animals communicate and respond to us.
Spending time with a therapy dog can also provide students with a calm and supportive environment. Whether they are talking with Emily, spending quiet time with Peaches or simply enjoying a pat and a cuddle, these experiences can help students feel connected, relaxed and ready to learn.
It has been wonderful to see the excitement each Thursday when students know that Peaches is visiting. Her wagging tail and gentle nature have certainly brought plenty of smiles to our classrooms!
We would like to extend a huge thank you to Emily and Peaches for being such a wonderful part of our school community this term. We are grateful for the positive experiences, connections and memories they have helped create for our students.
Regards,
