Junior Swimming Carnival
Our carnival calendar began in great style with our annual Swimming Carnival, held on Friday 6 March at the Clarence Aquatic Centre.
Congratulations to all students for getting involved with such enthusiasm. It was fantastic to see so many earning points for their Houses while displaying excellent House spirit, teamwork and a real sense of fun throughout the day.
A sincere thank you to all staff members and Junior School parent, Kate Collis. Together, your support, effort and organisation played a vital role in making the event such a success, and it was truly appreciated.
Year Group Champions and House winners will be announced at our next line-up.
Based on the results from our carnival, a strong team will represent St Mary’s College in the JSSATIS (Thursday 19 March) and/or STCPSSA (Friday 27 March) interschool carnivals at the Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre. Please congratulate the following students:

Southern SATIS Athletics
A huge thank you and congratulations to all 50 athletes who represented St Mary’s yesterday! We are incredibly proud of your efforts, the way you supported one another, and the fantastic energy you brought to the day. A special shout‑out to those who bravely stepped in to fill gaps and take on extra events – sometimes with only 30 seconds’ notice. Your willingness to jump in did not go unnoticed and was very much appreciated.
Our co‑captains were Abbie and Mackenzie Graves, and Holly Richardson.
Below are the full results, along with the Age Group and the Shield results.
Age Group Results
- U13 – 5th Place
- U14 – 3rd Place
- U15 – 1st Place
- U16 – 2nd Place
- Open – 2nd Place
Unfortunately, we were narrowly surpassed by Fahan, finishing second overall in both the Junior and Aggregate Shields.
A very big thank you to all teachers and students for their support, and who provided assistance on the day.
We now set our sights on the State SATIS Athletics, scheduled for Tuesday 31 March in Launceston.
