How long have you been with St Mary's College?

I have been a student at St Mary’s College for the past 14, beginning in Kindergarten. Over that time, the College has become a place that is incredibly important to me.

What makes St Mary's College special to you?

St Mary’s provides students with many opportunities to grow, whether that be through developing leadership skills, exploring academic interests, or getting involved in the wider school community.

What does leadership mean in your role?

To me, leadership means being inclusive, representing the voices of students, and having the confidence to step up and speak on behalf of those who may feel unable to speak for themselves. It is about creating an environment where everyone feels heard, valued and supported.

What goals are you hoping to achieve this year, and what impact do you hope to make in your role?

One of my goals for this year is to strengthen the relationships between different year levels within the College. I hope that through my role I can help encourage greater connection across the school community and contribute to a culture where students feel comfortable engaging with one another. Ultimately, I hope this is something that leaves a positive legacy.

Who inspires you?

The people who inspire me most in my life are my parents. They continually encourage me to be the best version of myself and to make the most of every opportunity that comes my way.

What's your 'word of the year'?

My word for the year, inspired by the values of the College, is simplicity. I believe that in life it is often the simple actions — small acts of kindness, inclusion and support — that people remember most.

How long have you been with St Mary's College?

I moved to St Mary’s College in Year 7, and over the past few years, I have gained countless friendships alongside many memories I will never forget.

What makes St Mary's College special to you?

What makes St Mary’s College special to me is the strong relationships that develop between students and staff, and the friendships that are built along the way.

What does leadership mean in your role?

In my role as Deputy Head Prefect, I hope to ensure that every voice is heard and that everyone feels valued. I believe leadership should be kind, positive and supportive, encouraging each individual to do the best they possibly can and to be proud of themselves and their achievements.

What goals are you hoping to achieve this year, and what impact do you hope to make in your role?

This year, one of my goals is to help make the College a place where people feel excited to attend each day. I hope to contribute to building positive relationships across the school and to be someone who is approachable to all students.

What's your 'word of the year'?

My ‘word’ for the year is challenge; challenge yourself, challenge others and step outside your comfort zone when given the opportunity. I encourage everyone to make the most of their time at school by creating as many memories as possible, having fun, and giving everything a go, even when it’s easier not to.
