Water Polo 101 | Junior Program
The University of Tasmania Honey Badgers Water Polo Club is running a four-week Water Polo 101 introductory program for children aged 10 and older who are new to the sport or transitioning from flippa ball.
The sessions provide a fun, beginner-friendly introduction to water polo, where participants can learn the rules, practise essential skills, build confidence in the water and enjoy modified games in a supportive environment.
With the School Water Polo competition kicking off in Term 2, Water Polo 101 is an ideal opportunity for those considering playing for the first time in a Grade 5/6 or 7/8 team.

Sleep Rough Schools
This year marks the fifth anniversary of Sleep Rough, Tasmania’s biggest community sleepout. Our students and families are warmly invited to take part in Sleep Rough 2026, helping raise awareness and vital funds for people experiencing homelessness in Southern Tasmania.
Leah Wilson from Year 1 Echidnas and her family have already signed up, and we’d love to see more families join them.
Right now, more individuals and families than ever are struggling to find safe and stable housing. By taking part in Sleep Rough, participants spend one night stepping outside their comfort zone to better understand these challenges and support the services that help people rebuild their lives. It’s a simple but meaningful way for children to learn about empathy, kindness and looking out for others in our community.
Sleep Rough is also an opportunity to show our young people that they can make a real difference. By getting involved together as a family, students see first-hand how their actions can support others, build stronger communities and help shape a more caring future for everyone.
By participating, our school community will help raise vital funds so Hobart City Mission can continue providing housing support and essential services to people experiencing homelessness in our region.
