The importance of holiday reading for fun

Research indicates a powerful correlation between students’ reading enjoyment, motivation and achievement. 

Here are some tips to bring a love of reading into every teenager’s life.

1. Model good reading behaviour.
2. Read together when they are studying or enjoying a book.
3. Utilise your Librarian ~ Get a library card & use the library app to reserve books ahead of time.
4. Read what they read. 
5. Activities, such as e-book loans and virtual story times.
6. All reading is good reading.
7. Create a cosy reading nook.
8. Read with friends.
