Dear Warrandyte High School Community.

Welcome to the final edition of the Warrandyte High School Gang Gang iNewsletter for 2025.

As we approach the end of the 2025 school year, it is timely to reflect on what has been a remarkable year for Warrandyte High School, one defined by improving outcomes, strengthened culture, and countless moments of excellence across our school. Our school values of Excellence, Integrity and Respect have been on full display, and the collective achievements of our students and staff have set a powerful foundation as we look ahead to 2026.

Over the past fortnight we have celebrated significant events that highlight the vibrancy of our school community. Our Art and Technology Show on Friday 14 November was a wonderful evening that showcased the imagination, skill and effort of our students. The quality of work on display was outstanding and a real testament to the dedication of our staff and the creativity of our young people. This was followed by the Year 12 Valedictory on Tuesday 18 November, a perfect send-off for the graduating Class of 2025, who have now completed all of their VCAA examinations. We look forward to celebrating their results in the coming weeks.

This year we have continued to see improvement across key academic and wellbeing measures. A standout achievement was our exceptional Year 9 NAPLAN results, with 85% of students achieving in the top two proficiency levels for Reading and 80% in Numeracy. These outcomes place our school ahead of local, network and state comparisons during a year where student participation across Victoria reached its highest level since 2017. This success reflects both the commitment of our students and the deep, targeted work undertaken across our learning areas, most notably in English and Mathematics.

Equally pleasing has been our 2025 Attitudes to School Survey results (AtoSS). As shared earlier in the year, our students reported the highest positive endorsement in the history of our school, with an overall 5% positive endorsement increase from 2024. This demonstrates the strength of our school climate, the genuine sense of belonging among our students, the pursuit of academic excellence, and the important role our Student Voice Council continues to play in shaping the student experience.

Our co-curricular and sporting programs have continued to thrive. Students represented the school proudly at District, Zone and State levels through VSSSA competitions, and our whole-school production of Alice in Wonderland Jr. brought together students from across all year levels in a production full of creativity, energy and teamwork. Including the continued partnership with Andersons Creek Primary School. These experiences not only enrich learning but strengthen the fabric of our school community.

Adding to this list of achievements is our outstanding result in the 2025 School Performance Report, where Warrandyte High School achieved the highest possible rating in Learning, Wellbeing, and the overall performance group. This is an extraordinary accomplishment and reflects the collective effort and commitment of our entire staff.

Looking ahead, we are excited to launch our new leadership and organisational structure for 2026, which enhances representation across year levels, our House system and the International Student Program. Next year, the student cohort will be led by our four Year 12 School Captains, each aligned to a key school priority: Teaching & Learning – Jack Brennan, Wellbeing – Isla Thomas, School Beautification – Lachlan Williams, and House System – Zoe Whelan

We are currently in the middle of our two week Launch transition program, where students are engaging with next year’s curriculum, exploring new subjects, establishing essential routines, and preparing academically for the year ahead.

Our entire school community should be incredibly proud of everything we have accomplished this year. As we transition into 2026, we do so with confidence, momentum and a shared commitment to lifting the bar even higher for every student. I extend my very best wishes to our senior students awaiting VCE results, and I thank our families, staff and broader community for your ongoing partnership and support.

Wishing everyone a safe, restful and enjoyable end to the year, and a wonderful start to 2026.
