Feast of Mary MacKillop and Feast of the Assumption

The next couple of weeks are busy weeks in the life of the Australian Catholic Church. This Friday is the Feast of St Mary Mackillop and the children will be talking about this remarkable Australian women during class time this week and she will be the focus of our Friday assembly prayer.

The following Friday is the Feast of the Assumption.

The Feast of the Assumption, celebrated on August 15th, commemorates the belief that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was taken body and soul into heaven.

It is the day when Mary, after her life on Earth, joined her son Jesus in heaven

, a joyful event for all. It's a celebration of Mary's special place in God's plan and a reminder of the hope that one day, all believers will share in the resurrection.

We will be commemorating this with a combined Mass with Sacred Heart College at 10 am in the MPB. Everyone is welcome to join us.

Staff Spirituality Day

Next Wednesday all staff across the Sandhurst Diocese will be taking part in a Spirituality Day. This will provide all staff with the opportunity for some learning as well as the chance to spend some contemplative time in prayer and reflection.

Reconciliation

Session two of our Reconciliation program is tonight at 6pm in the year 3 space. The program started well last week and it's great to see the students and adults  so engaged in this learning.

Have a great week everyone,
