INTERNATIONAL Student News

ORIENTATION DAY
On Wednesday 28 January, we welcomed our new International students to Frankston High School. For students arriving from countries around the world, this can be a nervous and daunting time, and ensuring they feel safe, supported and connected from day one is critical.
The work of Ms Kelly Lin, International Student Coordinator, in supporting students through this transition is outstanding. Kelly’s organisation, care and advocacy play a key role in helping our International students settle confidently into school life. I would also like to acknowledge Ms Sharon Koning, Homestay Coordinator, who works tirelessly, including throughout the holiday period, to support our homestay students, their families overseas and their host families here in Australia.
Our International Program provides an important global perspective for our school and plays a significant role in building a community grounded in diversity, inclusion and acceptance. Thank you also to our English Language Centre and EAL teachers, Ms Caitlin Halliwell, Ms Meimei Ren, Ms Marie Farrell and Ms Sacha Fisher, for the important work they do each day to support our International students.
