WELLBEING Update

Frankston High School has a comprehensive Student Wellbeing Team responsible for the wellbeing of its students who work between the Year 7-10 Campus and Senior Campus.

At Frankston High School we aim to ensure that all students and families have access to supports that can assist in managing the day-to-day pressures of our daily lives.

It is important to know that support is available, not just through face-to-face services, but also through virtual channels that can include a range of evidence-based apps and online resources and programs that our young people and their families  can access.

This enable the strengthening of emotional literacy, positive help seeking strategies and ways to cope when we might not be feeling at our best.

Mental Health is never static.  It is fluid and ever changing. Not all students may want or need Wellbeing support at school.

These resources are being shared for anyone wanting extra support with regards to their overall health and wellbeing and is accessible at a time that feels best for them.  Our list of apps and online resources can be either used to complement existing support in place or can be used as stand-alone supports.

The start of the school year invariably brings a certain level of stress to us all.

Self confidence is often an issue and teenagers in particular, struggle with this. They are confronted with a variety of tough issues and learning how to deal with them can test their confidence. Physical appearance as well as being accepted in friendship groups is a stressor. In return this shows up in how they behave in public, their performance in school and other areas of their life, and family expectations. By becoming more accepting of themselves, teenagers become better equipped to deal with hurtful things that may damage their self-confidence.

Parents | eSafety Commissioner  | A great website to support parents with conversations related to young people staying safe online and recent changing to the Australian social media laws. With many young people transitioning back to school, it is a great opportunity for parents and carers to reset some guidelines and boundaries with regards to screen use and exploring conversations relating to online safety.
