Principal's Message 

My oh my! What a big couple of weeks at ENPS! Where do we even start? And what came first, the chickens or the eggs?

Yes, the chickens and eggs arrived in Foundation this week and our live Chick Cams have been back in action broadcasting from both Foundation spaces for all to see! The egg-citement has been high and the learning opportunities egg-ceptional. And what egg-cellent carers the Foundies have been to their newest classmates. 

Trivia, Games and Auctions!

We’ve had the most fabulous community event last Friday evening with our Trivia and Games night, and all on top of a highly successful Silent Auction culminating on Thursday night. The vibe all last week was high, and the fun was overflowing on Friday night by the bucketload. Once again the commitment to costumes from all was marvellous, the trivia competition was superb, and the games were an absolute hoot. Human Hungry Hippo continues to be a scene to behold and once again had everyone in stitches. We are so incredibly grateful to our Community Engagement Team of staff and parents, who worked so hard to pull our mid-year fundraiser together. In total, from the auction and the night’s event, we raised a staggering $12,086.88! Thank you to all involved and to all that donated, contributed and/or participated. 

District Athletics

It was a mammoth day on Tuesday for our young ENPS athletes with 54 students from Year Four to Six competing in the District Athletics Carnival. In our best day district carnival in our memory, we have 19 students heading off to the next level of competition at the Divisional Carnival on Tuesday 8th September. Such a stellar performance from all involved.

Moonee Valley Principal Network Learning Walk @ ENPS

On Tuesday we also had a visit from over twenty Principals and teachers from our local Moonee Valley Network schools. The Network has been participating in Learning Walks throughout the year, sharing our practice and pedagogy across our primary and secondary schools, learning with and from each other. This week it was our turn to showcase our literacy practices, opening a number of our classrooms across the school. Our Year Six leaders; Elsie, Mila and Patrick hosted our visitors and provided them with a wonderful introduction to our school before they spent the morning visiting classes across Years One, Two, Four and Six. 

A shout out to our three remarkable Learning Specialists; Angela Collins, Melissa Paola and Macalie Vlah, who were inspirational on the morning, demonstrating their leadership and the impact of our development and growth in our teaching practice, and to all of the teachers involved who opened up their classrooms to share their teaching to our visiting educators.   

Kinder Visit

With the new school year getting closer every day, it was a great opportunity this week for one of our local kindergartens, Journey Early Learning to come for a visit at big school! On Monday we had two groups of the four-year-old kinder students visit us across the morning to have a story in the library with me, and a play in the gaga pit with Mr Smith. 

We have just over 90 Foundation students preparing for primary school at ENPS in 2027 and we are loving getting to know them all. 

Principals' Day

Thank you again to our whole community for our very special and unexpected Principals' Day assembly last Friday. Our superhero capes are so very precious! We absolutely love them AND the skit performed by the Year Sixes too! We truly do have the best jobs in the world (and the best school!).

Parent and Carer Opinion Survey

A reminder that this week all 461 of our ENPS families would have received an email with the link to the 2026 DET Parent and Carer Opinion Survey. Thank you to the 28 families who have already completed the survey for us. However, this is just a 6% response rate and we would really love to hear from more of you. We do very much value and appreciate your feedback and perspective and your responses are genuinely used, alongside our student and staff feedback surveys each year when determining our strategic directions and planning. Don’t forget that the survey can also be provided in multiple languages so please don’t hesitate to contact the office if you have any questions or would like a survey provided in an alternate language. 

School Wide Positive Behaviour Thursday Lunches

Over the past two weeks we have had two fabulous Thursday special lunches with the token award recipients. It was a privilege last week to have lunch with what was very much a family affair with cousins Victor, Zayd and Ayden, along with friend Zach. While yesterday was big a lunch with Archer, Paris, Sofia and Orlando, plus friends Mia, Oliver, Cupid and Jack!

It is hard to believe we are now into the second half of the school year. There is still so much to look forward to this term. Next week’s Book Week dress up is always a HUGE event, while we also have our VIP Fathers and Father Figures session and Footy Day coming up over the next few weeks as we close off Term Three. 

And because I love birthdays; wishing Sarah Groves a very happy 40th birthday for today and to Sharon McWhinney for a very happy 60th birthday for Sunday from us all at ENPS!
