Term 1 Awards - Cupcake Decorating!

Last week, a group of Year 7 students enjoyed decorating cupcakes as a reward for their fantastic effort and dedication! Students tried out some piping of icing and created fun designs using a range of sweet treats. They looked and tasted delicious!

These students achieved high interim reports and maintained excellent attendance throughout Term 1, and we wanted to recognise and celebrate their hard work. We are so proud of the commitment they have shown so far this year!

Year 7 Special Assembly

On Tuesday Year 7 students had a special assembly to address increased rates of racist, homophobic and sexualised language in classes and in the yard. We are very fortunate that many students are reporting these instances. However, we would love your continued support in making sure that the Year 7 cohort are an accepting and welcoming group of students.

Absences

As winter hits the number of absences due to illness has begun to increase. We would like to thank all parents who have promptly notified the school of an absence, it makes our job so much easier. A reminder that absences can be recorded by contacting the absence hotline - 53 817 200, via SEQTA engage or by direct messaging your child’s form group teacher.

Lost Property

If you have noticed that your child has lost their: puffer jacket, diary, lunchbox, drink bottle or English reading book, please direct them to the Year 7 office or to the Admin office at the front of the school. There is becoming quite the collection of lost property and we would love to find their true homes.

Check Your Direct Messages!

It’s important that students are checking their direct messages via Seqta. There is a lot of information sent out via direct message, particularly around sporting opportunities. In order to participate in these great opportunities, please remind students to check their messages.

Curriculum Day/King’s Birthday Public Holiday

On Friday 29th May and Monday 1st June we have a curriculum day for staff and the King’s Birthday public holiday. Students can enjoy this mini break, and we look forward to seeing them return to school on Tuesday refreshed and ready to finish off the last 3 weeks of term.

Class Spotlight – 7C Home Eco

In Home Eco, students were learning to prepare and produce a chicken stir fry recipe. In order to do this, students had to learn how to prepare chicken safely and prevent cross contamination. There were rave reviews about this dish! Well done 7C!
