Chaplaincy Book Fair

National Volunteer Week found Horsham College students busy helping at the May Chaplaincy Book Fair fundraising event. While Year 8, Year 9 and Alternate Pathways students helped set up Maroske Hall for the huge two-day sale of pre-loved books, School Captain Henry Overman and School Council Representative Addison Walter volunteered as cashiers for an afternoon.
Super popular with members of the community of all ages, the Chaplaincy Committee welcomed hundreds of visitors from across the region, who browsed through and bought thousands of books of all shapes and sizes for $1 each.
Not quite a record, but pretty close, the committee Treasurer was thrilled to bank $6,700 on this occasion, with all monies raised supporting the provision of the chaplaincy program at Horsham College which includes ‘Brekky Hub’ twice a week, Thursday’s ‘For Faith’ lunchtime group, provision of pre-loved uniforms and whole school events such as the upcoming Team Strengths Day.
If you are keen to join the Chaplaincy Committee, please contact the college.
