Congratulations to our Senior Girls and Boys Tennis teams who played in last weeks School Sports Victoria State Championships in Glen Waverley.
The Girls team had a great day winning all of their pool games and qualifying on top of their pool and setting up a Semi Final match against a very talented Rowville Secondary College, The Semi Final unfortunately did not go our way, just falling short of making the next step of qualifying for the final, well done girls you did an amazing job to make the top 4 in the State.
The Boys were not quite able to make the semifinals like the Girls but had an amazing day on the court, there efforts were rewarded by being awarded the SSV Spirit of Sport Award for showing amazing sportsmanship towards the day and their opponents. The boys were more than competitive on court and were close to winning a couple of their pool matches. Well done boys on being in the top 8 in the State and a huge congratulations again for being awarded the Spirt of Sport Award.

With two teams entered into different pools, all students represented the school with great sportsmanship, teamwork and determination throughout the day. The beautiful weather made for perfect netball conditions and created an enjoyable atmosphere for both players and spectators.
Team 1 had an outstanding day, remaining undefeated throughout their pool matches. Their strong communication, defensive pressure and accurate shooting saw them progress through to the grand final after a series of impressive performances. The team gave their all in a hard-fought final, showing resilience and determination right until the final whistle, unfortunately going down by just three goals.
Team 2 also had a successful day on the court, finishing with one win, one draw and one loss in their pool matches. Every player contributed strongly and continued to improve with each game played. Both teams should be proud of the way they represented Horsham College, displaying excellent effort, encouragement towards teammates and a positive attitude across the entire day.

On Friday 16th May, our Intermediate Girls Tennis team travelled to Glen Waverly to compete in the State Championships against some of the best school teams from across Victoria.
The girls represented Horsham College with great skill, determination and sportsmanship throughout the day. After an excellent start to the tournament, they won two of their three pool matches to secure a place in the semi-finals. Despite falling short in a hard-fought semi-final, the team's performance was outstanding and a testament to their hard work and commitment.
To finish among the top four school teams in the state is a remarkable achievement and one the girls should be incredibly proud of. Congratulations to all players on a fantastic campaign and for representing Horsham College so well on the state stage.

HC1 gave their all in the final and fought hard until the end but unfortunately went down to Wimmera Lutheran College after a highly competitive match.
HC2 competed in Pool 2 and continued to show great effort, sportsmanship, and resilience across the day. The team worked hard in each game and celebrated a strong win during the competition, finishing with 1 win from their 3 matches. On Tuesday 20th May, our Intermediate Girls Football team travelled to Hamilton to compete in the Greater Western Region (GWR) Football Competition.
With perfect football weather greeting the girls throughout the day, the team put together a fantastic display of, determination and sportsmanship. The girls recorded several impressive wins and pushed some strong opposition all the way in a number of narrow losses. Most pleasing was the confidence they gained as the day progressed, with each game seeing the group grow stronger and more composed.
The girls continued to play great football right through to the final siren of the last match, even after a well-earned stop at McDonald's between games! While they unfortunately fell just short of doing enough to progress to the next stage of competition, the team can be incredibly proud of their efforts.
Not only did the girls play some terrific football, but they represented Horsham College in an outstanding manner, competing hard while maintaining a fair, respectful and clean approach throughout the entire day.
Congratulations to all players on a fantastic campaign and for the way they represented the College.
