Incursions and Excursions

Our Year 11 Psychology class took a trip into the CBD on Thursday 8 October to visit the National Gallery of Victoria. There they attended a guided tour where they viewed some historic artworks to consolidate their knowledge of the Unit 2 content on perception. Specifically they discussed the use of Gestalt principles to help them make sense of what they see and the pictorial depth cues that allowed them to perceive depth in the 2D artworks. The students were polite, enthusiastic and a real delight to take out on the excursion and their extensive knowledge impressed the gallery’s docent.
