Dear Warrandyte High School Community
As we conclude week five of term, our focus remains firmly on supporting student learning and celebrating the achievements of our students. This final term is always a busy and significant period, particularly for our senior students.
We recently had the pleasure of formally farewelling our Year 12 Class of 2026 at a whole school assembly. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their secondary school journey and recognise the contributions they have made to our school community. Having commenced Year 7 in 2021, this cohort has experienced a unique journey through secondary school. A particularly important milestone is now upon us, with the 2026 VCAA end-of-year exams currently underway. To every WHS student undertaking these exams, I extend my very best wishes on behalf of our entire school community. The commitment, perseverance and effort you have demonstrated throughout the year have brought you to this point, and I encourage you to approach each exam with confidence, trust in your preparation and give your personal best. We are all behind you and wish you every success.
As we farewell our Year 12 students, we also look ahead to our emerging student leaders. Congratulations to our newly appointed 2027 School Captains - Elise Miller and Kaelan Cotte and House Captains - Mia Fadel, Sasha Curry and Ruby Johnston. I look forward to seeing our student leaders embrace their roles, uphold our RISE values and make a positive contribution to our school community.
I am proud to share that Warrandyte High School has once again achieved an Overall Performance Group rating of 'High' in the Department of Education's 2026 School Performance Report. This is the highest possible classification and marks the second consecutive year our school has achieved this outstanding result. It reflects our sustained improvement and the collective commitment of our staff, students and families to creating a high-performing school. This is an achievement our entire community should celebrate.

Our ongoing commitment to improving the physical environment of our school continues. Recent projects include the installation of new Year 7 and 8 lockers, school Values bollards and additional shade sails, while landscaping works are close to completion on our new Wellbeing Garden. These improvements form part of our broader vision to create welcoming, functional and engaging spaces that strengthen connection and school pride.
I am also delighted to share that Warrandyte High School has secured a $6,704 grant from Community Bank Warrandyte. This funding will support the purchase of C-Pen Reader devices and specialised Science equipment, further enhancing learning for our students. We sincerely appreciate the generosity of Community Bank Warrandyte and the support of our project partner, Rotary Club Warrandyte.
Work continues on the revitalisation of our school House System, with students recently invited to submit designs for our three new House logos. It has been pleasing to provide students with an opportunity to contribute directly to the future identity of our Houses. Our three new school Houses will officially launch in 2027. Stay tuned to discover which House you will belong to.
As we progress through Term 4, preparations are underway for our Year 9-11 Semester 2 exams, commencing Monday 16 November. Following the examination period, our two week Launch transition program will commence on Monday 23 November. This program provides students with an early introduction to their 2027 classes, teachers and curriculum, supporting a focused start to the new academic year.
I thank our staff, students, families and wider school community for their continued support. There is much to be proud of at Warrandyte High School, and I look forward to the upcoming weeks.
Warm regards
Luke Ventieri
