Grade 1 News

Well done to all of the Year 1 students who participated in our Athletics carnival and a big thank you to all the families who came to support and join in on our day. In Literacy, we have been continuing to expand our knowledge of different spellings for diagraphs and long vowel sounds. We have also been continuing our persuasive writing, learning how to use facts and opinions to convince a reader to agree with our point of view.

Thank you to all families who have helped their children with their family tree information. We have had rich discussions about the different important people in our lives that make up our personal history. As we continue to complete our family trees in class.

In Mathematics, we have been continuing to explore multiplication and division as grouping and sharing through hands on materials. 

In Religion, we have continued to explore creation and all the beautiful things in our world. We have been showing our appreciation and gratitude towards nature and all of the creatures within our world.

We also congratulate 1 Keir/Waite and 1 Shannon on winning the Bernie trophy in the past fortnight as well as last week’s award winners.
