Grade 3 News

Welcome to Week 8.
What a wonderful term our fantastic Grade 3 students have had.
They have been engaged and enthusiastic in our novels and maths this term.
This week, we’re diving deeper into Charlotte’s Web, exploring chapters 5 through 8.
The barn comes alive with new friendships, quiet wisdom, and a growing sense of wonder. Wilbur’s loneliness tugs at our hearts, until Charlotte, the clever and kind spider, spins her way into his life. These chapters remind us that true friendship often appears in the most unexpected places.
As we are reading, we are thinking about how Charlotte’s words and actions begin to shape Wilbur’s world and what does it mean to be a good friend, even when others don’t understand you?
Students have been investigating 3D shapes and their properties and applications, followed by revisiting the CUBES method to help solve addition and subtraction Problems.
As always, we encourage students to be working on their multiplication and related division facts. Fluency is a key component of understanding and automaticity.
In Religious Education the students are continuing to make connections between the story of creation from the Bible, first nations stories of creation with a focus on How the Murray River was made- A Bangarang Story and their own experience in the wonder of creation in nature.
