Foundation News

Well done to all our Foundation students for their first school athletics day!

It was so lovely to see them trying their best and cheering on their teammates.

Thank you to all families for your support on the day!

In Literacy, students have enjoyed meeting the sounds ‘x’ – Flexible Max and ‘y’ - Yawning Yak. We have also spent our literacy time creating books for the wonderful father figures in our life. We hope you enjoyed reading these on Father’s Day.

In Mathematics, students have been exploring capacity.

Learning that different containers can hold different amounts.

Some containers hold more; others hold less and some hold about the same.

We explored this in different ways, such as filling up containers with blocks, water and sand.

We have also begun our unit on Sharing in Mathematics.

Students have been exploring sharing into equal groups using hands on materials.

In Religion we have continued to learn about God’s Creation.

Students have discussed their favourite parts of God’s creation, such as gum trees, bees, flowers and the ocean. They also realised that it is our responsibility to look after it.

Students have taken this responsibility on in full force!
