Years 9 & 10 students receive industry insight at global design & engineering firm ARUP.

ARUP Industry Insight Session

As part of Frankston High School’s partnership with Ourschool, a group of 20 Years 9 and 10 STEAM students attended an interactive event at ARUP’s Melbourne head office last week. Along with other government secondary school students, they explored career pathways at a global leader in engineering, participated in small group discussions with employees and discovered the fastest-growing industries in sustainability and engineering. Particular highlights were the practical activity exploring the properties of structures that float and the tour of ARUP’s incredible facilities which included engagement with experienced staff throughout.

About the Alumni Program

Frankston High School is continuing to grow its alumni program in partnership with Ourschool, a not-for-profit alumni program for state secondary schools and the first of its kind in Australia.

By connecting with the alumni program, past students can provide career guidance and work experience opportunities for current students, establish scholarships and bequests, or volunteer in lots of other ways.

Ourschool is working with Frankston High to help these things happen by growing the school’s alumni community and coordinating the involvement of alumni in the school.
