Attdendance Matters 

At CPS, we find that there are three main reasons that students do not come to school.

The three main reasons for absence are:

1. Sickness - There are always times when students need to miss school, such as when they are ill. It is vital that they are only away on the days they are genuinely sick. Setting good sleep patterns, eating well and exercising regularly can make a big difference in staying healthy.

2. Holidays - It is vital that holidays are planned during school holidays where possible, and not during the school term if it can be avoided.

3. Day off – Think twice before letting your child have a ‘day off’ for a birthday, shopping days or just staying home. Remember when your child is absent, they could fall behind their classmates as every day counts!

How We Communicate Absences

Craigieburn Primary Schools absence communications are automated to best support parents/carers to meet their requirements under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 to promptly report absences.

·        At 10am an absent text message is sent to parents/carers for students marked ABSENT from Period 1. 

To report your student's absences from school, please 

·        Login to the Compass APP 

·        Submit attendant note 

·        Enter Reason /Timeframe /Estimated return date.
