Important Dates

Father's Day Afternoon

We had a fantastic time celebrating Father’s Day with a special afternoon full of fun and laughter! Our dads and special guests joined us in the classroom to play some exciting dice games with the students and enjoy some friendly competition. There were plenty of smiles and a few very funny (and very “dad”) jokes shared!

Why don't scientists trust atoms? Because they make up everything.

What did one ocean say to the other ocean? Nothing- they just waved!

Book Week

The time and effort our students put into their costumes really stood out this year, with an amazing range of characters, books and creative ideas on display. It was fantastic to see everyone proudly showing off their costumes and celebrating their love of books!

Athletics Day

Athletics Day was a fantastic day, with all students giving their best effort across every event while cheering their hardest and supporting one another. A big congratulations to Freeman (Red), who took out the win for the day!

Literacy

In Literacy, we are learning about Modern Democracy and how rules, laws and democratic values help communities work fairly and effectively. Students are exploring how people have a voice in decision-making, the rights and responsibilities of citizens, and how different perspectives can shape our communities. We are also weaving this learning into our persuasive writing, with students sharing their opinions and supporting their ideas with clear and convincing reasons.

Maths

In Maths, we are focusing on addition and subtraction, using bar models to help students visualise and understand what information is known and unknown in a problem. We are revisiting the CUBES strategy to help students identify important information and key vocabulary, and determine whether they need to add or subtract. Students are applying these strategies to a range of problem-solving situations and building confidence in explaining their thinking. 

Science

We are excited to be continuing our Science topic: Gases! Students are starting to explore what a gas is, how gases are different from solids and liquids, and how the three states of matter are connected. We’ll also investigate how gases are used in our everyday lives, learn about gas safety, and enjoy some fun, hands-on activities to see gases in action!

Wellbeing

This term, our focus is Personal and Cultural Strengths. Throughout Term 3, students will engage in a range of topics and activities linked to this theme. To learn more, click the green button below to access the resource book.
