Upcoming Learning
Literacy
We will continue to work on our 'First Scientists' unit, with students completing their informative paragraphs about the first inventions made by Indigenous Australians. To finish off the term, students will explore the text 'Curiosity: The Story of the Mars Rover,' creating factual recounts and continuing to build on their knowledge of outer space.
Numeracy
Number - we will be finalising our multiplication and division unit and moving on to pattern, identifying increasing and decreasing patterns of single digit numbers
Measurement - students will build on their knowledge of measurement by exploring capacity
Science - Objects in Our Solar System
Students will learn about Earth as one of eight planets and other objects that make up the solar system. They will consider changing patterns in the sky by observing the daytime sky and exploring the phases of the Moon. Students will learn about constellations, including those of First Nations Australians, and recreate a constellation using chalk or craft materials. They will investigate how and why their shadows change throughout the day.
