The start of Term 2 has been fantastic, students have quickly settled into our routine and rigour, displaying positive attitudes towards learning and play. They have maintained learning from Term 1 to enable them to connect to our new learnings this term. We are extremely proud of their efforts already in Term 1 and particularly the respect they showed in our ANZAC day service during assembly. What a great start to a new term! 

Our Learning - Term 2-Weeks 3 & 4

In English, students will:

-learn Stage 7.1 digraphs oa and learn the morphology around 'ing' and doubling rule.

-read words, phrases and sentences with the focus digraphs.

-spell and write words with the focus digraphs.

-compare different characters point of view in narratives.

-compare various versions of Fairy Tales including 'Little Red Riding Hood'

-review sentence punctuation.

-investigate pronouns - he, she, they.

-sequence problems and solutions in Narratives using time connectives such as then, next, finally.

-discuss adjectives to describe character traits and use connectives such as because, when and so to join two sentences.

 

In Mathematics, students will:

-use partitioning to investigate addition problems.

-investigate tens facts.

-identify the combinations that make 0-9.

-continue to build number fluency through Ninja Number Sliders.

 

In Inquiry students will:

-compare daily life in the present and the past

-learn about differences in play, technology and communication from the past and present.

 

In S.E.L (Social, Emotional, Learning), students will:

-learn about help seeking skills.

-discuss the various people we can ask for help from, at school, home and in the community.
