At the end of this week our foil ball competition ends. We have encouraged classes to collect their aluminium foil from the Easter eggs and Easter bunny chocolates they may have eaten over the break and bring it in to school. Classroom teachers will roll the foil into a ball and the class with the most amount of recycled foil will win!
Foil is highly recyclable but only if it is rolled into a tennis ball size - because it is so light if it is not rolled into a ball it can easily be lost in the recycling process.

Hillsmeade is proud to be partnering with the City of Casey, Living Links and Melbourne Water to revamp our vegetable garden space.
Over time this area has become difficult to manage with weeds taking over and aging garden bed edging.
We are excited to be the Living Links Ambassador school of 2026 and with some funding we will be going to work on rejuvenating this space as a sensory garden for all students to enjoy. We are going to be planting wildlife attracting plants and flowering shrubs, native plants and bush tucker plants.
Stay tuned over the next few months to see this transformation take place.
We ask students and families to please avoid the vegetable garden area over the coming months while we get to work in there. We will notify the community when the space is open for all to enjoy.
