Dear Parents and Carers,
With the shortest day of the year approaching, we find ourselves in the middle of Winter but you wouldn't know it with this beautiful sunny weather. I hope you have a chance to get out with your children this weekend and enjoy the sunshine.
As mentioned in the last newsletter, Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Early Years Education (MACS-EYE) has given conditional approval for the establishment of an Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) program at St Joseph's in 2026. This is expected to be ratified by the MACS-EYE Board in the coming weeks.
MACS-EYE are keen to ascertain the level of demand for the program and have asked me to survey families. This survey was sent out two weeks ago. I am resending it again, hoping we will have a few more responses. I have only had 13 so far. If you are at all interested in this service being established at our school, please participate in this survey.
Do you have a primary school-aged child experiencing symptoms of anxiety?
Clinicians at Swinburne University have developed a program to help parents manage childhood anxiety in children aged 6-11 years.
Due to the School Disco being set up by parents on Friday afternoon from 2:00pm - 3:00pm we will be holding our Whole School Assembly at 8:45am in the SPA centre. Students will meet their teachers under the shade sails at 8:45am then walk down to the SPA Centre. Parents are invited to head straight into the SPA Centre to secure a front row seat!
We are excited to have Meg and Tilly's wonderful Year Three students presenting the assembly this week, supported by our Year Six Leaders. Students of the Week will also be presented.
Check out the Parents and Friends page for information about the Disco and other exciting events they have planned for 2025. Thanks to Laura and the team for all their work. Volunteers who have completed the Parent Helpers Course and are holders of WWCC are welcome to help out. Click here to find out more.
