News from Year Six

Making Cookies

While some of our students were at the Yoorook Walk for Truth (see the Indigenous News page of this newsletter) the remaining students headed down to the staffroom to make some caramilk chocolate chip cookies.  Delicious!

Planting Day

We have been learning about bushfires, floods and cyclones in class.  One of the things we focused on is how we can help prevent these disasters.   One way of helping to prevent flooding is to plant vegetation near waterways. All students participated in planting some vegetation in the wetlands near our school.  This swamp plays a vital part in catching excess water from the hills around, which helps prevent flooding in Yarra Junction.

Let it Grow!
