Police & Fire Ed Incursions

The Prep students had a very exciting week meeting Constable Sara on Wednesday and Firefighters Jake, Shannon, Tom and Phil on Friday!

Constable Sara talked about road safety, always wearing our seatbelts in cars and helmets when riding our bikes. She also introduced us to a variety of Police vehicles such as helicopters, boats, horses, and highway patrol cars. Constable Sara kindly let us hold her handcuffs and try on some of the ceremonial hats.

The firefighters introduced us to the phrase “Get down low and GO GO GO”. We learned that this is what we should do in the event of a fire. They reminded us that even though they look big and scary in their uniforms and oxygen masks, they are always there to help us and keep us safe. We are looking forward to their next visit where we will get to see their Fire Truck and have a go with the water hose.

Community Walk

On Thursday 12 June, Preps will go on a Community Walk - more details soon. Parent/carer consent for this activity is covered by the Local Excursions student permission.
