Year 5 Camp
Our Year 5 students and staff had an unforgettable three days and two nights at Cave Hill Creek Camp from Wednesday 21 to Friday 23 May. The camp provided a fantastic opportunity for everyone to engage in a variety of exciting activities and challenge themselves in new ways.
From Low Ropes and Archery to Map Reading and Crate Stacking, there was something for everyone. A particular favourite was fishing the rubber duckies out of the lake while canoeing. Many students shared how brave and proud they felt when swinging from great heights on the Possum Glider. The experience was made even more memorable by the teachers' hilarious screams as they were hoisted to the top!
The Hut Building activity was a wonderful display of the EHPS school values. Students collaborated thoughtfully to design and construct impressive shelters using natural materials like logs, bark, leaves, and grass found in the area.
Evenings were just as special. On the first night, students cozied up in their pyjamas for Movie Night, gathering by the open fire to watch Megamind and enjoy popcorn. The camp highlights also included an epic “Ice Ice Baby vs Single Ladies” dance-off at the disco, hosted by DJ Graham, and a surprise performance of Gangnam Style by one of our staff members that had everyone laughing and dancing.
We were fortunate to have the support of Mrs Cotterell, Mr Zhang, Ms O’Flynn, and four incredible parent volunteers who helped make the camp experience run smoothly. The students have been working hard, finishing off their gratitude cards, ready to give to those who helped make their camp special. They have also been making homemade postcards to share their experiences with their families.
