Exciting Science Week at EHPS!
Science Week @ EHPS
Throughout the year, students have explored various science topics including Biology, Earth and Space, and Chemical and Physical Sciences. Our Essex Heights Primary School Science Week from Monday 16 June to Friday 20 June celebrates students' achievements in science learning.
During Science Week, our school will host a science incursion tailored to each year level's Term 3 science topic. Returning this year, the Mad About Science team will present engaging science acts and experiments to ignite curiosity.
Monday 16 June: Prep and Year 1 – Mad Science Show. A jam-packed show of big WOW science madness! It is all about air, electricity, and fire! Look out for an air zooka assault and some giant smoke vortex rings. They make some super static electricity with our Van der Graaff Generator. There are levitating beach balls, flying toilet paper, flour fireballs, and hair-raising electricity. The Mad Science Show is full of learning fun!
Wednesday 18th June: Year 2 – Liquid Nitrogen Show. What’s cooler than cool? Liquid nitrogen! Learn all about the states of matter and what happens when they heat things up and cool things down with our super cool chemical nitrogen. Lots of ice breaking volunteer moments, chilling demonstrations and even a frosty explosion – learn all about reversible and irreversible reactions with them!
Thursday 19th June: Year 6 – Innovation and Technology Workshop. Technology ignites innovation and advancements in industry. Students explore innovation over time, and engage in activities to understand how technology including Artificial Intelligence (AI), works and it's applications in everyday lives and industry.
Friday 20th June: Year 3/4 and Year 5 – Cosmic Chemistry Show. Join us for an out-of-this-world experience as we embark on an epic journey through space! Witness explosive big bangs, count down to exciting rocket launches, and discover what makes our blue planet, Earth, truly special. We'll take the students to the icy corners of the universe and the hottest, most uninhabitable planets. Vacuum sealed with lots of volunteer moments – let our experienced presenters bring the wonders of the solar system to life in this exciting show!
The activity event notice has been published on Compass. Consent and payment is due now and not later than Friday 13 June.
