Our Curriculum This Term

During this term's Reader’s and Writer’s Workshops, we explored the purpose, structure and language features of persuasive texts. They learnt to develop convincing arguments using persuasive devices, evidence and appropriate levels of modality. Students also developed their comprehension and analytical skills by writing structured reader responses using the Explain, Evidence and Effect on the Reader framework.

Maths

This term in Mathematics, students explored the relationship between fractions, decimals and percentages. They developed strategies to represent, compare and convert between these forms and applied their understanding to solve a range of real-world problems.

Inquiry

In this term's Inquiry unit, we explored Our Connections to Asia. Students dedicated considerable effort to researching their selected Asian countries, making a case for why their government should receive $1 million in aid to support initiatives directly aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Reminders

All students require an art smock (or old shirt) for our weekly Art specialist lessons, as well as a library bag to borrow books each week from our fabulous school library. Please also ensure that all uniform items (including hats), lunchboxes and drink bottles are clearly labelled so they can be returned if misplaced.
